Join us for the launch of World Happiness Report 2025
Researchers, policymakers, and members of the public are invited to a series of international events to mark the launch of World Happiness Report 2025.
This year’s report will launch on Thursday 20 March with a series of events, live-streamed from around the world, to celebrate International Day of Happiness.
In addition to the ranking of the world’s happiest countries, the report includes curated chapters from international experts at the forefront of wellbeing science. This year’s edition centres around the theme of ‘caring and sharing’. Here’s a sneak preview of what to expect.
The report is published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, in partnership with Gallup, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and an independent editorial board.
THURSDAY 20 MARCH
13:00 UTC - North America
This two-hour Semafor event starts at 09:00 EDT (UTC-4), live-streamed from Gallup HQ in Washington DC. Conversations with top leaders and researchers will focus on the report’s key themes around kindness, generosity, and happiness, helping global citizens and decision-makers to understand the trends in happiness and kindness, improve social connections, and implement policies that enhance wellbeing.
15:30 UTC - Africa
The University of Johannesburg will host our first-ever launch event on the African continent from 17:30 SAST (UTC+2). This event will feature a range of African experts discussing the key findings from this year’s report and how African leaders should respond.
19:00 UTC - Europe
The UK charity, Action for Happiness, will host a special event in celebration of International Day of Happiness from 19:00 GMT (UTC+0). This virtual event will feature World Happiness Report editor, Lara B. Aknin, in conversation with Dr Radha Modgil and Mark Williamson.

FRIDAY 21 MARCH

Leading Asian happiness researchers, including World Happiness Report editor Shun Wang, will dive into the key insights from this year’s report and discuss their relevance for the world’s most populous region with a virtual event on Friday 21 March, starting from 09:30 (New Delhi), 12:00 (Beijing/Singapore), 13:00 (Seoul/Tokyo).
16:00 UTC - Latin America (en español)
On 21 March, from 10:00 to 13:00 CDMX (UTC-6), the seminar World Happiness Report 2025: Main Messages for Mexico and Latin America will be held in the Ernesto Meneces Morales Auditorium of the Universidad Iberoamericana and broadcast online. Conducted in Spanish, the main findings of the WHR 2025 will be presented and discussed, highlighting the most relevant aspects for Latin America.

El 21 de marzo, de 10:00 a 13:00 horas, se llevará a cabo el seminario Informe Mundial de la Felicidad 2025: Principales mensajes para México y América Latina, en el Auditorio Ernesto Meneces Morales de la Universidad Iberoamericana y transmitir en línea. Insights from World Happiness Report 2025 will be the subject of a special session at the first-ever Nordic Happiness Summit, taking place from 24–25 March in Helsinki, Finland. Leading minds will explore findings from the 2025 report around the Summit’s theme of ‘togetherness’.
